New Delhi: Delhi must wait until at least 2023 to begin to see all forms of improvement seen in the quality of Yamuna water with most schedules to complete the waste trap project and waste treatment plant (STP) which lasted until the end of 2023, the new report was prepared by the control committee Delhi (DPCC) pollution.
The interceptor sewer project is also expected to fully trap waste in March 2023.
Delhi has 35 STPS at this time with a combined capacity of 2,715 million liters per day (MLD), while the capital produces 3,273 MB.
This produces a gap in the treatment capacity of around 559 MLD, the report states.
To bridge this gap, the main stps, such as Yamuna Vihar STP, Condli STP, Rithala STP, Pillar Coronation STP and Okhla Stp, are in work.
While the improvement of Condli and Rithala STPS is expected to be expected on March 202, 36 percent of the work has been completed for STP Okhla so far.
The project has a decree line of December 2022.
For Yamuna Vihar STP, the revised timeline will be immediately submitted.
To do an upgrade work for 16 STPS, 3-4 years will be needed, the report states.
The interceptor sewer project is expected to trap the entire flow of 1,082 malls in March 2023, according to the schedule given by the report.
“About 771.5 MLD (169.7 MGD) was trapped and treated from 1,082 MLD (238 mgd).
All streams must be trapped and treated in March 2023 after construction / rehabilitation of coronation pillars, Rithala and Condli stps under Yap-III,” Reported That report.
It is said that from the 18 main waterways in Delhi between Wazirabad and Okhla, 13 have so far been trapped.
“Two main DRAINS-Najafgarh and Shahdara – are included in the ISP project where the substantial sub-driver under their command area will be trapped and treated.
Furthermore, in the treatment in situ in this channel is also being proposed,” said the report, “said the report, State the action plan has been prepared for the remaining three waterways, including Maharani Bagh Sewers, Mori Gate Channels and Drain Barapullah.
The DPCC said that STP will be built in the mouth of the second Mori gate and barreled trial, with the completion only expected in December 2023.
For Maharani Bagh disposal, partial waste disposal has been stuck to 9-10 MLD.
Manoj Mishra, organizers Yamuna Jiye Abhiya, claimed some deadlines had been violated in the past too, with very few projects that met the initial schedule.
“Until these projects are complete, the problem of waste will not be lost,” Mishra said.
The Delhi government, meanwhile, working towards the rejuvenation of a large drain flow to Yamuna.
“Najafgarh, supplements and Shahdara link flows will be cleaned and beautified.
All the main sewers will be converted into clean waterways again.
After this water channel is cleaned and beautified, only clean water will flow into the water channel that enters the river,” said Minister of Water Jain satyendar on Friday.
