Gurgaon: Hundreds of commuters on Jalan Raya Delhi-Jaipur are trapped in a large traffic jam on Monday because the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ by BJP, forces them to take a long detour and the streets are flooded.
Many commuters have to wait for more than two hours on the highway in Rewari, close to the site where farmers sit in protests over the past eight months.
In the midst of fear of the third wave of possible pandemic, Yatra to honor martyrs was held under the leadership of BJP MLA Banwari Lal as a counter to farmer agitation.
“We want to instill a sense of nationalism through this Yatra.
People must know about martyrs and remember how careful they are,” Banwari Lal told Toi.
Similar Yatra was taken at Mahendergarh, Jhajjar and Jind District Haryana.
Hundreds of people can be seen lined up, driving a tractor carrying a flag while shouting “Bharat Ki Jai ” In the background of the pa-rty of losing the footing in Haryana because of the protest of farmers.
Although there were no unwanted incidents reported, the commuter witnessed a difficult time to go to their destination.
Police officials said traffic had slowed because of the movement.
Ashok Kumar, a commuter, said, “I was stuck in a massive traffic jam after crossing the Shahjahanpur toll plaza, towards Gurgaon.
Even the service path is chock-a-block, and traffic stands still.
Vehicles, including buses, which are stuck on the service path somehow managed to take a narrow bylane and forced to pass the streets filled and had fun.
Immediately these roads are also packed jam because these buses cannot maneuver narrow bends and turns.
“There are several other people who blame the authorities.” When I asked Marshal traffic, he said the jam was due to farmer agitation.
However, after I moved a little forward in a narrow lane, I saw a large number of tractors carrying a national flag, which was part of the rally.
Local residents also said this jam was unusual and not because of the protest of farmers, “said Ajay Sharma, another commuter.
The farmers in Rewari, meanwhile, are preparing to hold ‘Yatra’ Tiranga ‘in Haryana on August 15, a day after Yatra for a week by Yatra BJP is scheduled.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), led by Gurnam Singh Chaduni, will lead Yatra.
“In Rewari, BJP did not have the support of farmers, but landlords.
We are preparing for our Yatra where farmers will drive tractors and motorbikes carry a national flag to fight Yatra by BJP, “said Samay Singh, Chairman Bku from REWARI.
