Greater Noida: Only one hospital responded to a proposal by Yamuna Expressway International Development Authority (Yeida) to build two pediatric facilities 100 beds from Yamuna Expressway.
Yeida, which is held in June offers two plots of 5,000 square meters in sector 18 and 20 for two hospitals, has been forced to extend the time limit for the application until this Friday.
The lack of response to building two children’s hospitals comes when government throughout the country increases their health infrastructure remembering fears that more children are likely to be affected during the third wave of Covid infection.
Initially, the last date to send the application was July 8, after which Yeida was supposed to choose an agency based on interviews and presentations.
One of the conditions is that hospitals must be prepared in 8-10 months.
“Under the institutional plot scheme, which was launched last month, we offer a total of 10,000 square meters to build two hospitals from Yamuna’s freeway.
But we only receive one application – from the apex hospital in Agra.
So we have to extend the deadline Until this Friday, “said Arun Vir Singh, Yeida CEO.
The source said though two private hospitals – Jain and Asta – have shown interest in the project at first, they finally did not submit their application.
It leaves APEX Hospital Agra as the only competitor.
