Yellow lines in NH toll booths to Finish long waiting Period for vehicles

NEW DELHI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Wednesday declared that yellow lines will be drawn at 100 meters at each toll lane and after the string of vehicles signature online, the price operator might need to open the gate for many vehicles on this lane to travel free. In a declaration, the NHAI explained this is a portion of its instructions to ensure minimum waiting period in the toll plazas and also to make sure that the complete trade time for a car is over 10 minutes at peak hours in the toll plazas. TOI on February 24 had reported concerning this NHAI strategy to generate toll operators liable and enhance efficiency in their own operations. “Even though in the majority of the toll plazas, there’s not any waiting period following compulsory 100 percent Fastag, then if there’s queue of vehicles of over a hundred metres because of a reason, the automobiles are permitted to pass without paying for price until the lineup comes over 100 meters in the toll booth, then” that the NHAI stated. It stated since NHAI has transitioned into 100% cashless tolling from middle of February, the total FASTag penetration in cost plazas has attained 96 percent and several toll plazas have 99% penetration. “Keeping in view the developing Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) penetration into the nation, it’s been highlighted to have a brand new design and assemble the forthcoming toll plazas according to traffic projections for next 10 years to really have a efficient toll collection program,” that the NHAI stated.
