Ahmedabad: The 36-year-old Yemen National Arrested with the AK-47 parts and other assault rifles, which he allegedly produced from engineering companies in Odhav and Kathwada Gidcs in the city, said the crime branch officer on Friday.
Based on TIP-OFF, City Crime Branch accused Abdul Aziz al-Arazazani from a hotel in Naroda on Wednesday and seized the assault rifle from him, said Premeverher Singh, Commissioner of Crime, Additional Branch.
The police recovered the gas block, front scenery, short barrels, and several other mechanical parts of various assault rifles, including the AK-47, he said.
The branch of the crime also recovered nearly 150 candle molds and four dyes from two companies in the Kathwada region of GIDC in Ahmedabad, the official said.
According to the police, Alazzani has planned to send this rifle spare parts to Yemen, a ripped war country where groups such as Al-Qaeda rebels and Houthi fight each other fight.
The initial investigation has revealed that the defendant, who is a resident of Al-Baunah in Yemen, works as a laborer and farmer, the official said.
To fulfill the request of a rifle attack attacked in Yemen, his friend Munir Mohammed – who run weapons maintenance workshop there – has offered a 10% commission from the sale of arms spare parts to Abdul Aziz if he obtained these parts from India and sent them to Yemen .
Alazzani’s father Yahya Mohammed has a heart problem that he visited to Navi Mumbai in 2018 to get treatment at a private hospital there.
Since then, Alazzani has brought his father to India every year for routine examinations.
According to the agreement that was beaten with Munir, Abdul came to Mumbai with his father on November 16, 2021.
After the examination and operation, he sent his father back to Yemen on December 11 before traveling to Ahmedabad.
“Alazzani contacted DK Engineering, a company in the Odhav Gidc area, to prepare dyes for spare parts, such as short barrels, front scenery and gas block, police said.
After Alazzani provides a design and measurement to the company, it prepares metal dyes and gives it to him, Not realizing that the dye was intended for the manufacture of rifle parts, “said Singh.
The defendant then contacted two other manufacturing companies in the Kathwada Gidc area and placed orders to produce different parts with the help of dyes.
He told them that the parts were intended to be used in industrial machinery.
The local court has returned police allegations for seven days, the official said, adding that the case under ARM was registered in this matter.
