TRICHY: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Trichy team on Monday conducted programs in its three secure temples to mark the International Yoga Day celebrated annually on June 21.
The occasions watched a 45-minute yoga session followed with a 30-minute brief cultural program.
The recently formed Trichy circle together with South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, conducted the yoga programme in the Lower Rock Cut Cave at Trichy, Brihadeswara temple at Gangaikonda Cholapuram at Ariyalur district and Fort Vattakottai at Kanyakumari district.
Superintending archaeologist Dr Arun Raj T chaired the role in the Lower Rock Cut cave.
Yoga professionals and pupils performed different yoga asanas accompanied by ethnic activities such as martial arts.
The value of heritage and yoga monuments was emphasized at the evenst ordered under the banner Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav effort and has been attended by several archaeological fans.
