Lucknow: Chairman of the Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Friday welcomed the revocation of three agricultural laws and expressed regret for farmers could not be convinced even though there was the best effort of the government.
“The government tries to dialogue with farmers at each level.
But maybe because some shortcomings in our part, we failed to explain our points to the people,” Adityanath said.
“I sincerely welcome the withdrawal of three agricultural laws by the Prime Minister on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Government,” he said.
CM said the bill withdrawal was a “historic” movement and congratulated the Prime Minister to make a decision.
“Today, in Gurupurb, the Prime Minister has done historical work using the language of dialogue in democracy and drawing three agricultural laws,” he said.
He said even though the bill received support from most farmers, a minority that could not be convinced successfully extended it.
“Although since the beginning there is a large community that believes that such laws can play an important role in increasing the income of farmers, some farmer organizations oppose it and despite our efforts to take agitation paths,” he said.
CM welcomed the decision also to establish a committee on minimum support prices.
