Yorkshire Chief Executive Mark Arthur has resigned with the direct effects in the latest Fallout of the allegations of institutional racism made by former Azeem Rafiq player, said the club in a statement on Thursday.
The club has appointed Paul Hudson as temporary chief executive.
“Today (November 11) The council at the Yorkshire County Cricket Club has received the resignation of Mark Arthur as CEO.
We thank him because of his tenure,” said Chairman Yorkshire Kamlesh Patel.
“This is an important moment for clubs that are ready to move forward with new leadership, which will vital in encouraging the changes we need.” Arthur added: “I have a fantastic eight years at the Yorkshire County Cricket Club, working with a group of outstanding people, and together reaching a lot of highlights.” Rafiq, a Pakistani descendant and former British captain under the 19s, last year said he was made to feel like an outsider in Yorkshire and contemplated taking his own life, and recently called Arthur’s resignation.
