NEW DELHI: Audio-only social networking app Clubhouse was finally launched on Android in India last month.
The thing about Clubhouse is that not everyone can get access to it and you would need an invite to get in Clubhouse.
Now it appears that the app is thinking about doing away with the invite system.
As reported by PhoneArena, Clubhouse recently held a Town Hall meeting on the app to discuss “what it has experienced since allowing the vast majority of smartphone users to install the app”.
After the Town Hall, the app posted a tweet from its official handle which mentioned that the app now has 2 million Android subscribers.
The tweet further mentioned that the app will come with a general release this summer.
This means that soon the users will not require any invite to join the app.

Heading for general release sometime this summer! That means the next few updates will be about discovery, notifications, and less visible but very crucial improvements.” This move is said to increase the Android downloads of the app and will also give tough competition to rivals like Twitter Spaces.
Recently, the voice-based social network valued $4 billion in a recent fundraiser.
The app gained a lot of popularity last year and is used by several high-profile celebrities, investors, politicians and entrepreneurs.
