Gurgaon: A young man has been arrested for creating the WhatSApp Transporter group from Gurgaon, Rewari and Narnaul and sharing the location of the Regional Transportation Office (RTO) to help the last pass the checkpoint and avoid paying a penalty for an overloaded vehicle.
Manesar-Resident Balraj, police said, along with some of his colleagues had been a team of RTO officials in his Scorpio car and shared their location on a paid group on the micro-blogging site.
The young man was arrested on January 25 by the Pawan Kumar Inspector team, Sandeep Pasad Sub-Inspector, Sukhbir Constable and Sunil Kumar driver who reached the Billaspur Chowk in the official RTO vehicle to check out the freeway in Delhi-Jaipur.
The team saw Scorpio (registration no.
HR26 EQ 6966) followed the official vehicle and intercepted REWARI and Narnaul where he shared the location of RTO officials from each district in exchange for money.
This information, the police said, was used by group members to avoid checkpoints of a public servant in the disposal of their duties as such public employees) and 353 (attacks or used criminal powers to anyone who became a public servant) against Balraj, a Benek police spokesman said .
The police also tried to ascertain whether RTO employees conveyed information to the defendant.
