Gurgaon: traveling in the city may be easier this year, with some infrastructure projects set to open for passengers during this year.
Where the biggest project is Dwarka Expressway, which is being built at a cost of Rs 9,000 Crore and is expected to reduce traffic congestion along the route currently connecting Delhi and Gurgaon by giving passengers with alternatives.
The 29km-long toll road will connect Shiv Murti to NH-8 and Kherki Daula.
As from factors such as painting pandemic and construction imposed in the midst of high pollution levels, working on toll roads has been complicated by the collapse of high roads built as part of it, after which construction was suspended.
With work after continuing, officials from the Indian National Highway Authority (NHAI) anticipate that they will be able to complete the project in “eight to ten months”.
Moreover, NHAI officials hope to complete other major projects – Sohna’s high road, which is being built at 1,700 crore Rs costs – in March.
The project aims to facilitate congestion between Rajiv Chowk and Sohna through the construction of firover and underpass at various points.
“Even though the work was detained for almost a month recently because of the prohibition of construction, we hoped to lose time.
Both Dwarka Expressway and Sohna raised the road to be opened in the coming year,” said a senior official NHAI.2022 will also bring improvement in several major intersections at City, including downtown Huda, Atul Kataria Chowk and Mahavir Chowk.
The RS 43-Crore project for Revamp Huda City Center includes the construction of underpasses from the signature tower towards Subhash Chowk, a two-way libiter between Hussain Marg and the road to the signature tower, and Two Crore Atul Kataria.
The Decongestion Chowk project involves underpass construction between Sheetla Mandir and Maharana Pratap Chowk, as well as flyovers between Gurgaon and Kapashera bus stands.
The 23-crore RS project to change Mahavir Chowk, meanwhile, involving the construction of the bottom line between Old Delhi Gurgaon Road and Bus Stand, high footpaths, and road services.
All three projects, officials from the Metropolitan Gurugram Development Authority (GMDA) said, it would likely be completed in the next three months.
“Even though we have December 31 deadlines for all these projects, work is suspended for about a month because of the construction ban.
In addition, the pandemic and delay in the shift in utility are also complicated our work.
We hope to complete the three projects in the next three months,” said a senior GMDA official.
