Patna: Special Court established under the caste and the scheduled tribe (prevention of atrocities) acting here on Wednesday punish a 25-year-old young man to a 10-year-high imprisonment after holding a 75-year-old widow in Jaiwar Village under the Gaurich Police Station on Patna six years ago.
The woman died two months after the incident was due to depression.
The ADJ-III Special Court Triloki Dubey also applies a fine of RS 20,000 at the convicts, Karu Kumar aka Karu Singh.
Karu was also accused of raping a little girl in the village and she still faced trial in this case.
He was also accused of sodomizing a small child in the village, but there was no case raised by the boy’s parents because of social stigma.
Widow was raped on July 21, 2015 when he worked in the field near his house.
He somehow returned home and told the incident to his son and other family members.
The woman was then taken to the hospital for treatment.
Shyam Special Public Prosecutor Nandan Kumar Singh and Junior’s Advice Meena Kumari has demanded a prison sentence for Karu.
However, the court gave 10 years to KARU as a deposition of the victim, smuggling officers and government doctors who had conducted medical examinations could not occur in trials.
