Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police arrested a 24-year-old young man on Monday for killing a construction worker at Konavaikkalpalayam near Vellalore.
The captured young man has been identified as S Davidraja from Boyar Street in Konavaikkalpalayam.
He runs a fish shop near the VellaLore housing unit.
Police said Davidraja consumed alcohol on Sunday night and walked back home.
He watched M Kandaamy, 30, a construction worker, and his friend, Naravanan, 40, chatted with each other at Boyar Street Junction at around 11pm.
Davidraja questioned Saravanan because he sat in the late night area.
He quarreled with him.

Kandasamy intervened and asked Davidraja to go home.
Davidraja took the log from the ground and attacked the kandasamy on his head.
He punched Chest Kandasamy repeatedly.
Kandasamy struggled to breathe.
Kandasamy was taken to a private hospital by his family member in the Autorickshaw.
The doctor examined it and declared him dead.
The villagers warn the police control room.
A police team from Podanur Station rushed to place.
At that time, Davidraja fled.
Podanur police registered a murder case against Davidraja and arrested him on Monday afternoon.
