MALDA:”A 19-year-old guy was detained in West Bengal’s Malda district Saturday for allegedly murdering four relatives and hammering them in an area of the home four weeks ago,” police said.
“The episode occurred in Gurutola village at Kaliachak police station area,” a senior officer said.
“The figures of detained Asif Mohammad’s dad Jawad Ali (50), mom Ira Bibi (45), sister Arifa Khatun (17) and grandma Alekjan Bibi (75) were exhumed and shipped for post- mortem evaluation, superintendent of police,” Alok Rajoria stated.
The episode came to light following the accused of 21- year old brother Arif Mohammad, who’d managed to escape through the episode and shifted locations during those four weeks, advised law enforcers in Kaliachak police station on Friday night.
“On February 28, Asif had functioned all of the loved ones cold beverages laced with sleeping pills.
As they dropped unconscious, then he tied his hands and gagged their mouths with duct tapes.
Then he drowned the four individuals in a reservoir at the home and buried bodies at the ground of an area.” “The intruder managed to loosen his duct tape and then escaped in the home after a short physical battle together with the accused.
He’d gone to several areas including Kolkata through those four weeks,” that the SP told reporters.
“According to the preliminary evaluation, that the accused had demanded cash from your dead and lots of lakhs of rupees and digital gadgets such as a television series, telephones, CCTV cameras and a notebook have been retrieved from the home,” Rajoria stated, adding, this analysis has been underway to determine the reason behind the murders.
“The complainant has been arrested for questioning,” Block Development Officer Mamun Akhtar stated.
The accused had informed the neighbors that his father, mother, grandma and sister had gone into their apartment in Kolkata, the BDO added.
Neighbours reported that Asif had turned into a recluse and didn’t mix with individuals or allow anybody to go into the home.
“Asif was used to come from the home to accumulate online meals deliveries.
When asked about his family members, he’d say they’ve gone into Kolkata,” Mohammad Ali, a neighbor, said.
