Youth need to know the city in Freedom’s struggle: Gadkari

Nagpur: Transport Minister Union Nitin Gadkari advised children to learn about the struggle of Indian freedom.
“The 75th year of Indian independence must be celebrated on the 50th year lines,” Gadkari said while attending the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ event organized by Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) at Sakkardara Lake Garden on the day Friday.
Speaking on that occasion, the Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari said that Nagpur Smart City had chosen the Sakarada and Septipet regions as ‘environmental nurturing’.
“NSSCDCL tries to give a new look to the city.
Citizen participation is also required to keep the city clean and green,” he said.
The Chief Executive NSSCDCl Buvaneshwari S, General Manager (E-Governance) Sheel Ghule, General Manager (Mobility) of Rajesh Dupfhare and the others were present on that occasion.
Gadkari also attended an event to annoy 75 senior citizens in a program organized by Nagpur Municipal Corporation in Suresh Bhat Auditorium.
He suggested Tiwari Dayashankar to compile a book that has detailed Nagpurians contributing in the freedom movement.
“This book will benefit the younger generation to find out about city participation in the freedom movement,” he said.
Citing Citing, Gadkari said that the chitnis and expensive area had historical significance that was not realized by the younger generation.
“The city also has a very rich inheritance and cultural values, which need to be distributed among the younger generation,” he said.
