Kanpur: Yugant Shekhar Singh from Barabanki and Hienbankel Chandel from Saharanpur will lead a team of men and women in the 60-2021 National Athletics Championship to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Hanamkonda in Warangal (Telangana) from September 15 to September 19.
According to Hridayanand Singh, the chairman of the selection committee, only the athletes who have been selected have reached the minimum standards set by AFI.
Some athletes close to qualification standards have also been tentatively selected subject to approval by AFI.
PK Srivastava, Secretary General of Honor, Animal Athletics Association (UPAA) said Gaurav Kumar from Agra and Neeraj Panwar from Shamli had time as a team manager while Saurabh and Ajay Kumar had been appointed as team coach.
