Guwahati: High Command Congress has requested the Assam Pradesh (APCC) Congress Committee to adopt a zero tolerance policy against leaders who violate party discipline and allegedly incoduce the exodus to BJP.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and MP Rahul Gandhi have placed responsibility for the APCC and leaders of the country to decide on the future road map of the opposition alliance in Assam.
After the meeting of Sonia and Rahul who were highly anticipated by the Delegation of Congress from Assam on Saturday, the new APCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah said that the full authority had been given to leaders from the state to consolidate the opposition alliance in Assam ahead of five state repairs and Lok Sabha polls on Year 2024.
“Sonia-ji has directed us to decide to give a final form to Mahajot in Assam.
We don’t need to wait for a high command nod before finishing the Alliance,” Borah told Toi.
In the latest assembly elections, an exploration between AIUD and Congress was reportedly postponed for months because APCC was waiting for high command approval.
