New Delhi: In the midst of the Amazon report investigating the costs related to bribery to several legal representatives in India, the US e-commerce giant on Monday said it was necessary for accusations of action that was not right seriously and investigated them completely to take appropriate action.
Without confirming or denying allegations, Amazon said it has “zero tolerance for corruption”.
According to a report with a morning context, Amazon has initiated an investigation into several legal representatives for allegedly bribing Indian government officials.
The company’s senior advice was reported to have been sent to leave in this matter.
When contacted, Amazon spokesman said: “We have zero tolerance for corruption.
We accept allegations of actions that are not right seriously, investigate them completely, and take appropriate action.
We do not comment on specific allegations or status of any investigation at this time”.
Someone who is aware of these developments said companies headquartered by the US center such as Amazon took a serious Whistleblower complaint, especially those related to bribery payments to foreign government officials to maintain or get a business.
It is also to ensure compliance with the rules of corporate governance.
Meanwhile, Cait Bodies traders have demanded the CBI investigation which said that this problem was related to the credibility of the government and against the vision of eliminating corruption at all levels in the government.
The Confederation of all Indian traders (CAIT) also demanded that the names of officials involved in this issue were carried out by public and exemplary actions taken against them.
CAIT, who has sent communication to the Minister of Trade Piyush Goyal, said it also moved representation to the Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (Set) of the US Gary Gensler to demand “fair and independent probes” into the problem.
National President Cait BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said it needed to be asked whether the alleged bribery had “any relationship with an ongoing investigation or related to violations of law and sustainable rules by the Amazon”.
These steps are needed to protect e-commerce markets and retail trade from undue influence, abuse of domination and ketonone with government officials, which are under the anti-corruption law, they added.
The development came at the time of Amazon facing an inquiry by the reasonable trade of Watchdog, Indian competition commission (CCI), for alleged anti-competitive practices, pricing pricing and preferential treatment.
Amazon is also locked in legal aquiries with future groups.
Amazon companed the RS 24,713-Crore agreement between the future group and Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd and has dragged a future group to the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC).
It has argued that the future violates the contract by entering an agreement with rival reliance.
Amazon and future groups have also filed litigation in Indian courts, including the Supreme Court, about this issue.
Amazon is an investor in a coupon in the future, which in turn is a shareholder in the future Retail Ltd.
