MADURAI: Covid Free Madurai, a taxpayers discussion in Madurai has generated that a zero-waiting ward in the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH), that could save lives by assisting people who want oxygen when waiting to get a bed in the hospital.
This centre was organised in communicating with many institutes and also that have collectively provided 45 stretchers along with 90 oxygen tanks into the GRH.
During the summit of the next wave, several ambulances were also making a beeline into the GRH, where patients with reduced oxygen levels needed to await a couple of hours until they found a mattress.
The demand for a zero delay in Madurai was worried by specialists after it had been successfully employed from the Chennai volunteers at the hospital .
When individuals in the ambulances are aided for this waiting while waiting for a mattress and also provided oxygen, then it goes a very long way in keeping the equilibrium of the individual until he or she receives a mattress.
Trained volunteers could help the sufferers to find the oxygen masks while waiting within this area.
Tracking officer for Covid at Madurai, Dr B Chandramohan stated this participation would assist the GRH at triaging the patients that are in need of urgent care.
An automobile has also been retained prepared outside this centre to carry cylinders for refilling and if required.
Former deputy director of public health, Tamil Nadu, Dr K Kolandasamy, primary adviser for the discussion, said this centre could be of terrific aid at the arrival of another wave.
The center has been passed on to the dean of their GRH, Dr A Rathinvel at the presence of their Madurai district collector Dr S Aneesh Sekhar and Chandramohan.
