Colombo: Zimbabwe head coach Lalchand Rajput will miss two internationally one day in Sri Lanka after testing the positive Covid-19 at the beginning of the tour, said an official said Monday.
The Top Sri Lanka Sports Doctor Arjuna de Silva said Rajput did not show symptoms, but was placed under the observation at the hospital before it was isolated in a hotel.
“We are doing a few routine tests and he will be able to return to a hotel,” De Silva told AFP.
“There will be a 10-day quarantine period which means he will miss the first two matches.” The ODI series will be played at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy City on January 16 and 21.
De Silva said other members of the Zimbabwe squad were tested negatively and will continue with their practice according to plan.
The plan for the sixty -20 stage with Zimbabwe was thrown away because of the upcoming Australian tour of Sri Lanka.
