The second Kodambakkam in 193, followed by Thiru-VI-Ka Nagar with 174 and Teynampet with 173.
Three zones have shown a decrease in active cases in the past week.
This is Manali, Anna Nagar and Valasaravakkam.
However, the decline is the order of only 1-7 cases.
The increase in active cases has been the highest in Kodambakkam (59) and Thiru-VI-Ka Nagar (56) in the past week.
Incidentally, the Kodambakkam zone included T Nagar, the busiest commercial center in the city where the shops were closed at least a week ago.
Corporate officials said they did focused testing in all busy market places and had also conducted testing among staff in government offices.
The swabbing was taken from 4,938 government employees working in 400 different offices throughout the city and tested using RT-PCR tests.
In the past week, 8,763 shop owners and their workers in 62 market places were tested by corporate officials.
The test will continue along with the intensive drive vaccination, said a corporate official.
