Zoramthanga wrote to PM Modi, seeking help for Myanmar refugees

Aizawl: Mizoram CM Zoramthanga has shot back letters to PM Narendra Modi, seek humanitarian assistance for thousands of Myanmar refugees flooded the country after a military coup in neighboring countries and after the recent intensified clashes.
Zoramthanga, who also sent a copy of his letter to Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, asked the center to sanction at least Rs 10 Crore to provide immediate assistance to the refugees.
In his letter to Modi on Wednesday, CM requested Rs 5 Crore to provide food, RS 3 Crore for the construction of accommodation and RS 2 Crore Formedicine and health facilities for refugees.
Zoramthanga previously sent a letter to Modi on June 18, seeking assistance in providing humanitarian assistance to refugees.
Secretary of Chief Lalnunmawia Chaiungo has also written a letter to the secretary of the external ministry on this issue on April 29.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Vice Chairperson of H Rammawi said unless the center acted quickly, resulting in hunger such as the situation, especially in the area bordering Myanmar where refugees lived in small villages.
Meanwhile, at least 200 refugees from Myanmar have entered the country since Wednesday night, village leaders through the Mizoram-Myanmar border area.
MC LalRamenga, President of the Tuipiiral Young Mizo Association (YMA) group in Chewhai Regency, said 129 refugees entered and took refuge in 6 villages – Farkawn (56), Khuangleng (23), thekte (18), Leithum (18), Leithum (8) and Vangchhia (2).
The villages are in the constitution of Tuipui Timur.
Sources in the city of Champhai said about 30 refugees, which included several soldiers who left Myanmar soldiers under the military council called the “State Administration Board ‘, had entered.
