Mangaluru: Dakshina District Administration Kannada has decided to identify schools that have fewer classrooms on priorities, because schools have been forced to teach students with emergency arrangements.
As a result of social distance at school, because of the Covid-19 situation that applies, some government schools face the lack of classrooms.
This has been emphasized because more students are accepted at school.
Higher government elementary school in Aliyor in Moodabidri Taluk is one example.
The school has done classes on the school stage and in the emergency class.
“Schools that have around 200 students last year, now have 325 students.
As a result, there is a lack of classrooms.
To accommodate all students, school development and monitoring committees (SDMC) decided to have emergency classrooms for class IV and VII.
For Grade VII , classes are held throughout the day on the school stage.
Classes are held for half a day in emergency classrooms for class IV students, who shift to classrooms when LKG / UKG children go to the house in the afternoon, “Devaraju said, Block Education Officer, Moodabidri.
The school has seven classrooms.
Commenting on the shortcomings of classrooms in the district, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO Kumar said that the district government would soon find a solution to overcome this problem.
“As far as concerning moodabidri problems, we have gave grants, but work does not take off due to tender problems.
We have re-initiated the process, and the work will begin the earliest.
Meanwhile, we will also identify other schools that face the same problem,” he told toi.
Malleswamy, DDPI, Dakshina Kannada, said there were two schools in the district, which faced a problem of lack of classes that require immediate action.
Social distance has forced us to have more classrooms.
“Schools in Moodabidri have been subject to sanctions RS 21.2 lakh to build two additional classrooms,” he added.
