Yavatmal: In the main crackdown, the police damaged gambling and anti-social activities was carried out at the main administrative building of Zilla Parishad in Yavatmal by employees and senior officials.
Acting on the tip-off, Awadhootwadi police stormed the place at Wee Hours on Saturday, towards the arrest of eight staff.
Toi knows that a group of clerks and senior officials will turn the office building to become a gambler at night for a long time.
On Friday night, employees gathered and began to gamble and consume liquor but were arrested with red hands.
“A source tells the police who follow which police wearing civilian clothing raiding the building and utilizing cellphones, two and four wheels and also recovering cash around Rs 31,000,” said the source.
One of the employees escaped.
Eight officials, working in various ZP departments, had been arrested.
Chief Executive Officer Shrikrishna Panchaal said, “I have ordered a separate investigation with inappropriate and illegal activities and will take hard action against the three employees.” He added that CCTV cameras will be installed soon.
