Coimbatore: City Corporation has submitted 11 roads measuring 41 km to the state highway department for maintenance because through the financial crisis.
The Civic body, which extends for 257 square kilometers, has 2,700 km of roads in 100 environments.
The road connects the main roads managed by national highways and state highways.
Because the corporation faces a crisis of funds, most of the roads are in poor condition.
Holes are filled with stone chips, which do not ensure durability.
Encourage this background, the State Highway Department writes to companies looking for permission to carry several roads for maintenance.
The corporate board meeting held on August 31 led by corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara approved the request of the Chinnasamy Road, Jalan 100 feet and Sivananda Colony) (4.70km), from Jenneys Residency (Jalan Ganapathy) to Sakthi Saai (6.6km) , Threeer Pandal Road from Avinashi Road to Vilanurichi Junction, from the Vellalore Noyyal Bridge, from the Vellalore Bridge, from the collector to Avaramapalayam (through Polytechnic College Government for Women and Sathy Silai), from Ukkadam (bypass road) to Junction Sivadam, from Ramamoorthy Coast Road To Palakkad Road (Kuniyamuthur), Polachi Road from Sugunapuram at Polachi Road), from Puttuvikki Road to Sundakkamuthur Road (Kovaipur) and Sanganur Road from Sathy Road to Mettupalayam Road.
This is the first arrangement made by the corporation, said an official.
Recently, the Civic body has canceled projects worth crores rupees quoting the financial crisis.
