12 blocks get a special team for anti-dengue drive

Coimbatore: The Public Health Department has formed a special team to implement shared anti-fever steps in all 12 blocks in this district, where some cases have appeared in the past few days.
The ongoing rainy words have created conditions that benefit Aedes mosquitoes, the carrier of dengue viruses.
There are cases of dengue in the city too and Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) have seen several reception.
According to P Aruna, Deputy Director of Health Services, the district has reported 20 cases of dengue fever at the average in the past few days.
“While Kaseload is not worrying, we have taken precautions by forming a special team on each block.” The team consists of four minimal members – a health supervisor, health inspector and two sanitation workers.
They will conduct a fever control camp and take precautionary measures, in addition to creating awareness among residents.
Because the Covid-19 case has dropped significantly, the official said, the Ministry of Health could divert staff for fever eradication work.
“People are asked to keep their place and the surrounding area is clean to prevent them from developing a breed for Aedes mosquitoes.
The actions will begin with people if they are found responsible for glorifying dengue mosquitoes.” Dean CMCH A Nirmala said they had seen Four to five dengue cases in the past week.
“We are ready to take the possibility of a surge in cases of dengue fever in the coming days.” He said they keep the place clean and dry, as part of the bloody anti-fever steps.
Sajian health officials said cases of dengue fever have appeared in the district in early January, when almost 100 cases were reported in a month.
However, cases drop after the Civic body applies strict anti-fever steps.
