Bengaluru: Karnataka on Thursday reported 12 omicron cases again, taking the calculation of a variant case to 31.
Of the 12 new cases, 10 came from Bengaluru and each of Mysore and Dakshina Kannada.
These new cases consist of the first Bengaluru omicron cluster with three main contacts a 26-year-old woman returned.
He traveled to Bengalaru on December 12, developed symptoms after arrival and was positively tested.
On Thursday, his father (56), mother (54) and sister (20) was confirmed to be infected with the Omicron variant.
“This is the first omicron cluster between the main contact of international passengers,” the BBMP authorities said.
While parents were fully vaccinated, his 20-year-old daughter had taken a dose.
The 26-year-old girl’s genome sequencing report was awaited.
Bengaluru’s new Omicron cases included two men, aged 31 and 21 years, and a 18-year-old girl traveling from England on December 17.
They tested positive covid on arrival and remained without symptoms.
While the men were fully vaccinated, the girl took a dose of covishield.
MySuru recorded the omicron case on Thursday, with a 9-year-old girl who had just arrived from Switzerland through Abu Dhabi on December 19.
The Omicron case also includes a 27-year-old man traveling from Ghana through Dubai to Mangaloru in December.

Two new omicron patients were affixed with a booster dose.
A 49-year-old woman who traveled from Denmark to Bengaluru on December 17, was tested positive for Covid on arrival and was found with Omicron variants.
He has taken two doses of the Pfizer vaccine and a booster dose from Moderna.
A 42-year-old man from England, who traveled to Bengaluru on December 17, was found to be infected by Omicron.
He had taken two doses of astrazeneca vaccine and followed up with a booster dose on December 11.
The 11-year-old girl from Bengaluru was also among patients infected by Omicron.
