Amritsar: More than six months after the Taliban started them in Afghanistan, 120 Sikh and Hindus left Afghanistan to settle in India on Friday.
President Gurdwara Kart-e-Parwan Kabul Gurnam Singh said 100 Sikhs and Hindu Afghan and 20 Indian citizens left for Delhi from Kabul Airport carrying two Saroops from Sri Teacher Granth Sahib (SGGS), Geta, Ramayana and other religious scriptures from the temple Asamai kabul.
Gurnam said about 120 more Sikh and Hinduism still lived in Afghanistan.
“We still live in Gurdwara but will eventually come to India,” he said.
President Gurdwara Teacher Arjan Dev at Mahavir Nagar Locality of Delhi, Partap Singh said they had received the Sikh and Hindu groups who arrived from Kabul on Friday.
“Many have their relatives here and those who will not be treated well,” he said.
Add that they have made up arrangements in Gurdwara and will try to provide all other facilities.
The two Saroop will be installed in Gurdwara, he added.
