Coimbatore: PMK has urged the Tamil Nadu government to increase the age limit for teachers to file direct recruitment in government schools.
The previous AIDMK government last year to improve the age limit of 40 years for the general category and 45 years for the booked category.
The DMK government currently raises it for two years.
Before the AIDMK government improved the age limit, it was 57 years old.
Ramadoss said the head of Minister M K Stalin, who at that time was the opposition leader, opposed the move to improve the age limit of last year.
He has made a poll to revoke him.
Ramadoss asked CM to fulfill his poll promises.
The DMK government currently increases the age limit of two years and the announcement was made last month.
But the PMK leader said that it was not enough because not all candidates had the opportunity when drives recruitment were carried out only 3-4 times in the last 14 years.
Ramadoss said there was a teacher’s lakh who qualified eligible for the appointment as a postgraduate teacher at school, but the pandemic made them not qualify because of their age.
The DMK government’s decision to declare a candidate at the age of 42 which did not qualify to submit a direct recruitment for 2,207 postgraduate teacher posts in higher schools have destroyed the dreams of thousands of prospective teachers, he said.
