Lucknow: A total of 15 people were killed and 26 were injured when the Decker Double bus collided with a truck in the Dewa police station area in Barbanki District on Thursday morning.
Personal bus carrying 55 onboard passengers is heading for Bahraich from Delhi.
The deceased includes nine men, two women, three children who have been identified while the identity of one person cannot be ascertained.
Barbanki police said that the prime facie seems to be the truck comes from the wrong side and tries to save wild cows, lose control and crash into the bus.
The Chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister announced Ex-Gratia each RS 2 Lakh for the victim’s family and Rs 50,000 for injured.
He also directed officials to reach the place immediately and helped the victims.
The police supervisor, Barabanki, Yamuna Prasad, said that the accident occurred when the bus reached the luxury line under the area of the Dewa police station.
Meanwhile, a truck headed to Lucknow from the opposite end collided directly.
According to eyewitness reports, a stray came in the middle of the road and the truck driver lost control on the wheel.
