Vadodara: The Gujarat government on Friday decided to suspend the offline class for students from first grade to grade nine until January 31.
But ahead of the decision of the state government, offline classes in several city-based schools have been disturbed by the increase in Covid-19 positive cases in all age groups.
Officials said that at least 17 schools in the city had notified the Vadodara District Education Office (DEO) about their teachers or students who tested positive last month.
“In fact, most cases have emerged recently.
The first case reported by the school in Vadodara in mid-December.
Then, we saw some cases spread.
But we received more missives from schools in the past week,” said an official.
The majority of schools switch from offline to online education mode for only one class where a student or teacher is tested positively but has continued another class in hybrid mode.
