Berlin: At least 19 people have died and dozens of people are missing in Germany after a heavy flood change the flow and the streets become a raging torrent, sweeping the cars that collapse.
Authorities in Western District Euskirchen said on Thursday that eight deaths had been reported there in connection with flooding.
Rescue operations are hampered by the fact that the telephone and internet connection are in the area, which is the southwest of Cologne.
Police in the western city of Koblenz said four people had died at Ahrweiler County, and about 50 were trapped on the roof of their house waiting for rescue.
Six houses had fainted overnight in the village of Schuld.
“Many people have reportedly disappeared to us,” police said.

A firefighter drowned Wednesday during the rescue work in the West German Altene City and the others collapsed during rescue operations at the power plant in Werdohl-Elverlingsen.
A man was lost in East City Joehstadt after disappearing when trying to secure his property from the water that rose, the authorities said.
The train connection is suspended in most North-Rhine Westphalia, the most solid state of Germany.
The Governor of Armin Laschet, who was running to replace Angela Merkel as a Chancellor in the German election of the fall, is expected to visit the city of Hagen who was exposed to flooding later on Thursday.
The German weather service DWD predicts rainfall will subside Thursday.
