Chandigarh: About 2,900 farmers have been booked and 736 were arrested in Haryana in the last three years to burn arrears.
The state authority also imposed a sentence of around Hospital 2.2 Crore to farmers to burn plant residues during this period.
Agriculture and Agriculture Minister of Welfare Welfare J P Dalal provided information in the assembly on Wednesday while responding to questions by Ellenabad Mla Abhay Singh Chautala.
According to the information provided, 2,943 farmers were ordered from 2019 to 2021 to burn arrears in the country – 1,975 in 2019, 868 in 2020 and 100 in 2021.
The police have arrested 397 farmers in 2020, but there were no farmers in 2020, but not There were farmers arrested for burning stumps in 2021.
In terms of registration of cases and catching farmers, Fatehabad Regency recorded a 723 highest number of arrests, from 736 in the state.
