Paris: Omicron has become the main covid tension in France with a country that reported 2,32,200 new cases on Friday, the highest total recorded.
New infections for the last 24 hours are above the 200,000 limit to run the third day.
The previous record of 208,099 was set on Wednesday.
“62.4% of the test shows a compatible profile with the omicron variant” earlier this week, compared to 15% the previous week, “said the French public health agency on Thursday.
