Ahmedabad: Civil authority on Saturday said the vaccination drive will begin on Monday which will cover adolescents between 15 and 18 years, and will discuss around 2.5 lakh people in their edge.
“The Deos meeting identified children, especially from 700 strange schools for vaccination.
The city mayor will start a vaccination campaign from a private school in Chandkheda on Monday morning,” said an AMC official.
Manoj Aggarwal, ACS (Health), on Saturday announced that there would be a mega drive on January 7, to vaccinate teenagers who qualified for vaccination.
“Our focus will be in registration in places in schools and designated vaccination centers so that we can cover teenagers going and non-school.
Vaccines will be given at 3,500 centers,” Aggarwal said, adding that the country has an adequate vaccine dose.
The health department official said that around 36 lakh teenagers will be borne and vaccinators will also hold camps with organizations working on disabilities, observation houses and itís.
The session for teenagers will also take longer than 9AM which is up to 6pm for the maximum coverage in the least time, they add.
Aggarwal added that 13-14 lakh people in the state will get a booster dose from January 10, the preparation is complete.
