Shivamogga: The police have taken two people to detention because they use the name of the Rural Development and Pancrayat Raj Ministers KS Eshwarappa and collect Lakh Rupee promises the project in the RDPR department.
Two separate fires have been registered.
In the first case, Lakshman from the village of Muttalabilu in Barur Gram Panchayat from Sagar Taluk, has complained against Vittal Rao, Muhamad Mufasir, Manjunath, Khajivalis and Mohamed King to cheat him.
Others Rajesh, an engineer from Mysuru, was also accused of in this case.
Lakshman is a PWD contractor.
The five defendants promised that the project installed 106 RO water filters in Bengaluru and allegedly collected Rs 26 Lakh from him.
The police said they were then started to avoid his call, SP Laxmi Prasad said on Tuesday.
In a similar complaint submitted by an engineer from Hebbal, he was deceived by Rs 10 Lakh.
Five defendants promised loans for Rs 100 crore for a villa project in Mysore.
Someone posed as a personal assistant to the minister, police said.
