New Delhi: The day after two taxi drivers were found killed in Delhi and their stolen items, the police on Saturday said two 19-year-old children had been arrested in this case.
I was identified as Aakash, aka Akku, and Junaid Region Anand Parbat, the defendant acknowledged during the interrogation that they hatched the conspiracy to trace taxis online and then murder and loot the driver, said Deputy Police (DCP), Central, Shweta Chauhan.
Around 1 morning on Friday, they ordered a taxi from T-Point Kamal.
After traveling distance, they strangled the driver to death from behind, took his cellphone and threw away the body and car in a separate location, Chauhan said.
After that, they ordered another car around 6.45 in the morning from Anand Parbat.
They used the same operandi mode but threw away the driver’s body and the car near Ramjas Ground before escaping with his wallet and call, DCP said.
The police have begun investigating after the car was found parked with the driver who lay unconscious in it around 8:45 a.m.
on Friday.
The man was taken to a RML hospital, where the doctor said he died, the police said.
He was identified as Antil Yadav (48) from Mahavir Enclave.
The cellphone and wallet are lost.
When the police contacted his wife, he said Yadav had left home around 6:30 a.m.
to work, the officer said.
Another taxi driver’s body, Chavvi Nath Nath, was found in the Bharat Nagar area in Northwest Delhi and his car at Gulabi Bagh, the police said.
When the police established technical supervision and obtained the details of passengers who took a taxi, they focused on both of them accusing and arresting them near the Zakhiri Layang area, Chauhan said.
He said Aakash worked in a cellphone workshop, and Junaid sold chicken with his father at Nehru Nagar Bath.
