Capitol Heights: Two people were shot on Friday at the Senior Maryland’s living facility outside Washington DC, and one suspect was being held, police said.
The shooting took place around 9:15 a.m.
in the National Church Village Gateway Gateway at Capitol Heights, Prince George District Police Tweeted.
The police initially said they were looking for additional victims or suspects and people had to take refuge in place, but they were then tweeted that a suspect was one man detained and there was no sustainable threat to the community.
Before arrest, the closest school temporarily placed on locking as a precautionary measure.
The police asked relatives to worry about occupants to gather in the nearest firefight.
The Gateway Village website describes the apartment complex of about half a mile (0.8 km) to the east of the Columbia District as a “affordable rental community for senior age 62+” with a studio unit and one bedroom.
