Chennai: Fastag, the electronic toll gathering system operated by the National Highway Authority of India, has blew the lid that might report toll collection by 47 toll plazas in all states as 3,421 crore collected in seven months (April-October) this year is almost the same as 90% of the toll collected last year.
The total toll collected for the whole last year was 3,875 crore.
In the District Krishnagiri, there was a five-fold leap in the collection in 2021-22 compared to last year.
The trend shows illegal liberation given to mine trucks, the truck driver association said.
Nhai hopes to collect 2,000 more crores in TN than last year.
While 3,320 crore was collected as a victim in Tamil Nadu by NHAI in 2016-2017, it was 3,262 crores in 2018, 3,392 in 2019, and 3,875 crore in 2020.
