Port Blair: Two more people who were tested positive for Covid-19 in Andaman and the Nicobar Islands took the total number of active cases in the United States to 14, a health official said on Sunday.
Both cases were detected during testing at Veer Savarkar Airport here.
All passengers who come with flights must undergo a required RT-PCR test at the airport before they are allowed to enter the islands.
Of the 14 Covid-19 patients in the Islands, 13 were in the Andaman District of South and one in the Andaman North and Central District, he said.
The two new cases pushed Covid-19 calculations to 7,598 where 7,455 people had recovered from this disease including two people in the last 24 hours, he said.
The victim killed Covid-19 remained in 129 because there was no new fatality reported.
The administration has so far been tested 5.27,246 samples for Covid-19 and the cumulative testing level is 1.44 percent, he said.
4,10,323 Beneficiaries have been inoculated until Friday, where 2.81,118 has received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 1,29,205 has received a vaccine dose, the official said, adding that the union area has a total population of around 4,00,000 people .
