Kolkata: colleges and universities that have reopened their reception portal, inviting fresh applications for undergraduate acceptance, receiving “a decent response”.
The Portal-Portal reopened after the Ministry of Education gave the Sevenday window, starting October 1 to October 8, and allowed the institute to invite fresh applications for empty seats they have in several subjects.
The deadline will end today.
The second phase receipt will take place simultaneously with the first semester of UG, which starts from October 1.
Many colleges have published two or three list of achievements in this phase.
Maulana Azad College invites fresh applications in subjects, such as Arabic, Persian, Bengali and philosophy.
“We have managed to fill out most of the chairs.
Very few chairs are left in several subjects that we invite new applications.
We can invite new applications in several subjects in the second phase and that accelerate the receipt process,” said Dutta Subhasi, the Principal at Maulana Azad College.
Until Thursday night, colleges had 10 empty seats in the philosophy and three awards in Arabic.
Seth Anandram Jaipuria College invited fresh applications for Honors Bengali (Shift Morning and Day) and Philosophy Honors (morning).
“In other subjects, we have an adequate number of applications and a list of achievements published with those who are lower on the list,” said Asok Mukhopadhyay, head of the campus school.
The Scottish Church invites fresh applications for Sanskrit, Bengali and philosophy.
“For other subjects, the list of calls will continue from the first list of priority to vacancies filled on October 8,” said a college official.
Lady Brabourne College has invited fresh applications for Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Sanskrit, and philosophy.
The application is accepted between October 1 and October 3.
“Some seats are still empty in this subject and students receive entrance tickets,” said an official.
After publishing five list of achievements, the University Presidency was still left with several jobs in Bengali, 12 in English, nine in history, eight in political science, 10 in sociology and 25 in chemistry.
“Students receive entrance tickets.
We might publish another list, depending on the number of vacancies,” said an official.
At Jadavpur University too, empty seats in several subjects in art and science.
“Students have expressed interest in taking it in the wish list,” said an official.
