Ghaziabad: Police on Monday arrested two thieves who had broken into the house in Vijay Nagar and fled with Rs 1 lakh ago a week ago.
The defendant, was identified as Ravi and Sunny, both the residents of Ghaziabad, made a robbery while the family had attended a wedding in Delhi, police said.
A senior officer said that the police got a tip-off on Monday, told them that the two defendants roamed the Vijay Nagar area and planned to carry out another robbery.
“Immediately, we increased the police patrol and set up a checkpoint on the road.
Police in one of the police vehicles saw the men who discussed on the road outside the house at 2am and asked why they were standing there.
They could not give a satisfying answer, ” he says.
The police took allegations to the Vijay Nagar police station.
During the interrogation, they claimed to have stolen Rs 1 lakh from a house in Vijay Nagar.
Yogendra Singh, Sho, Police Station Vijay Nagar, said that the victims, Rahul and family members, had gone to Delhi to attend relatives.
When returning home, they found the gate key opened.
Then, they found cash 10,000 cash and jewelry worth RS 1 lakh lost and registered FIR under the Section 379 (theft) IPC.
The second was accused of now in Hakodi detention at the command of a judge.
