TORRANCE: Honda revealed the 2022 Civic Hatchback, the latest addition to the all-new 11th-generation Honda Civic Sedan lineup.
The launch premiered during the Civic Tour “Remix” performance on the Honda Stage YouTube Channel The new Civic Hatchback is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine which produces 158 hp and has 187 Nm of torque.
It comes with an upgraded 6-speed manual transmission in both the naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter and 1.5-liter turbocharged engines.
According to the company statement, with a 19% increase in torsional rigidity, this car is safer and more refined.
Eight colours are available on the 2022 Civic Hatchback, including two new colours namely, New Boost Blue Pearl and Smoky Mauve Pearl.
Civic hatchback distinguishes from Civic sedan in terms of exterior design and structure.
The model is embedded with a new grille with a mesh texture while the roofline slopes towards the rear giving a coupe-ish shape.
The taillights have a bar running the width of the tail, whereas the sedan has separate lamps on each side.
This model looks visually more compact because the rear overhang and overall length are 4.9 inches shorter than the sedan.
Though shorter than its sedan twin but has more luggage space on offer.
The hatch is also wider which would allow large sized luggage.
The interior is designed on Civic’s simple design philosophy while improving rear seat packaging and cargo area access.
It features almost the same design as of Civic Sedan.
Its rear legroom has been improved by nearly 1.4 inches and rear headroom has been preserved.
It includes all of the technological updates made to the 2022 Civic Sedan, including a new standard single-camera Honda Sensing suite, 9” colour touchscreen, Bose premium sound system and a 10.2-inch all-digital instrument display.

The all-new Civic Hatchback will be built in U.S.
for the first time, at Honda’s Indiana auto plant.
