Lucknow: BJP released the seventh list for Friday and meets the target of dropping 20% of the MLA sitting, by replacing 17 legislators with new faces.
List of 91 candidates have a maximum brahmana – 21 – according to the balance of the eastern region of caste which votes on the fourth phase and fifth.
In addition, 20 candidates from OBC have successfully reached the list, emphasizing the outreach of the party.
BJP won 76 of these 91 seats in 2017.
Two of them had defected while someone gave up on Covid last year.
The party has also replaced two MLA with their relatives.
Of the 71 sitting MLA, it has maintained 53, or almost 77%, and changed the seat of a minister.
This list also has nine female candidates.
While most of the 13 ministers have been lowered again, the party has replaced the Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma with his son Gaurav in Kaiserganj.
Other senior ministers, Shriram Chauhan, have shifted from the Dhanghata chair to Khajni.
In Dhanghata, he was replaced by Ganesh Chauhan.
The list opened by the BJP polling committee has named the ministers such as Siddharth Nath Singh, who will compete from Allahabad West, and Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, who will be in Fray from Allahabad South.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi will contest from the Pathardeva seat.
The party once again showed faith in sitting Ayodhya MLA, Ved Prakash Gupta.
The 7th list also has the name of the media advisor for the Yogi government, Shalabh Mani Tripathi, from Deoria.
His name is doing a round during Lok Sabha’s poll too.
Two Turncoats, Rakesh Sachan Congress (Bhognipur) and Subhash Rai (Jalalpur) are also on the list.
