Gurugram: New Covid-19 cases in Faridabad jumped from 141 on Tuesday to 259 on Wednesday.
The number of active cases increased to 826.
Inpatient rises also, from seven on Tuesday to 28 on Wednesday.
The health department official said four of the 28 patients were in the ICU because one of them suffered from asthma, one liver disease and two had heart disease.
The positivity increased to 7.1% on Wednesday starting 3.9% on Tuesday.
“We expect daily infections will cross 1,000 marks within a week.
We have booked 3,639 beds for covid patients, which 299 is a ventilator bed and 890 is an ICU bed.
We also have 21 covid care centers, including converted schools and centers -Vehicles where the bed will be available for covid patients if the need arises, “said Dr.
Rambhagat, a representative of a civil surgeon, Faridabad.
The city, meanwhile, confirmed 21 cases of omicron variants on Wednesday.
A total of 29 omicron cases have been reported so far, where 20 is active patients, all of which are in house isolation.
“Most patients infected with Omicron report on Wednesday are family members.
They are not direct contact from international tourists.
We still cannot say that it is in the community,” said a senior health department official.
Officials said 30,378 people, including those aged 15-17 were vaccinated in Faridabad on Wednesday.
On January 5, the number of Omicron cases confirmed in Haryana stood at 106.
