Bhubaneswar: At least 15 police personnel and 8 members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) must be hospitalized when the rally organized by the last one here on Thursday, demanding the resignation of the Minister of State (House) in Shankar Mishra, turned into violence after the police Trying to stop the demonstrators from marching towards the assembly.
The problem began when BJYP members tried to reach assembly by breaking the security cordon.
The protesters want Gherrao Assembly, who have not been able to transact any business since the beginning of the session on December 1 because of the opposition request for the destruction of Mishra, allegedly involved in the murder of the Mamita Meer school teacher.
The PMG route under the master canteen turned into a battlefield with the protesters pelting rocks and sticks and threw placards to the police.
Some protesters attacked the police and also detrimental security vehicles.
The police must use Lathicharge to disperse a horde.
Several injured police personnel and members of the BJP youth wing were received at the capital hospital with injuries on their heads, hands and feet.
Police denied allegations using Force Doctors said all those who were injured were stable.
The State President of BJP Yuva Morcha, Irasis Acharya claimed the police used the power to hold their voices.
“We have demanded justice for Mamita.
The government and the police worked extra to protect the Minister of Shankar Mishra, who was involved in the murder case of teachers.
We took a peaceful rally but the police used strength and beat us.” Acharya said.
Police denied excessive allegations.
Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadar said police dealing with protesters with fully restrained.
“At least 15 of our personnel suffered a minor and large injury after being attacked by the protesters.
Some police vehicles were damaged.
Still, our personnel calmed the crowd with fully restrained.

BJD condemned the violence allegedly triggered by BJP Youth Wing.
