Shamli: Twenty-three people including a woman injured in clashes for old political competition between two groups in a village here, police said.
Clash took place after the confrontation between Khuhanjapura Nasir’s village head and his old rival Irfan under the Jhinjhana police station on Wednesday, said Sho Shyambir Singh.
Soon the heated verbal double turns into a clash between rival factions where firearms, stones, bricks and lathis are used freely, sho said.
The case was registered at the Jhinjhana police station under various parts of the IPC including 307, he said, adding that 15 people had been arrested after the probe.
23 who was injured, including Jolo Begum, Nasir, Irfan, Hashim, Haroon, Aslem, Shabir, Abid, Sacrifice, Israel, Zabir and others shifted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, security was tightened in Khuhanjapura Village after a clash, added the police.
