Letter: The boost of massive demolition to remove huts next to the railroad tracks near the UDHNA train station and the train authority was launched by the train authority on Tuesday.
Overall 2,546 make-shift structures including those evacuated were partially destroyed.
The heavy police bandobast included 185 personnel from Railway protection protection (RPF), 260 train police personnel (GRP) and 100 personnel from the city police were installed.
The teams were led by four police deputy supervisors and other senior officials.
In driving demolition, 100 train engineering staff are too involved.
A total of 12 earth drivers, four JCB Poclain and eight dumper are used.
“The drive starts at 9 o’clock in the morning and is finished at 1pm.
The Supreme Court has emptied living in the Demolition recently, after which work has begun again,” said a train official.
The demolition lived in August after residents approached the Apex court seeking help and rehabilitation on slums in urban areas.
In the city, the Civic body provides houses at affordable prices to those emptied from the slums.
Residents in the slums beside the railroad path demand rehabilitation on the same lines.
“Advanced notification is issued for residents to empty the house.
After the notification period is complete and a detailed survey by the department concerned, the Demolition Drive is done,” said a train official.
“Demolition’s encouragement will continue in several other locations where slum is present.
After the notification period is complete, the demolition will begin,” Officially added.
