26 feet of Durga idol gets the nod of the Minister of Berna

JAMSHEDPUR: The cloud above Durga Puja in Rocky Maidan under the sonari police station in Jamshedpur was appointed after the Minister of Health and Local MLA Banna Gupta gave him a green signal.
The controversy began when it was revealed that Durga Idol in this pandal was almost 26 feet high.
Jharkhand guidelines have limited idols in 5 feet.
Source said the district government told the organizers of Rocky Maidan Durga Puja to stop working.
However, senior leader BJP Abhay Singh extended his support to members of the Puja Committee.
Sanjay Kumar Choudhury, a member of the Organizing Committee, said the idol-making process began in May this year.
On several occasions, officials from administration and police have visited the site but they never instructed idolmakers to stop working.
Only after the guide was issued, the district administration told the organizers to stop working, which was impossible because almost 90 percent of the work was completed in August and idols were almost ready with only the last touch left.
He said according to Hinduism, idols could not sink if they were not worshiped.
Minister Banna Gupta agreed to say that idols can be worshiped without doomsday after all Covid-19 protocols.
The worshipers will not be allowed to approach the pandal.
Only priests will be allowed to do puja.
Organizers say all sops will be followed.
