Kanpur: Cyber cells branch crime capture and send 29 ‘criminals’ (cheat) to prison, recover around Rs 2.20 Crore from them.
Money from many victims is also returned.
About 1,774 cases are registered, where people rigged more than Rs 8 Crores by criminals.
Cyber `criminals’, who cheats people by hacking their cellphones, both above the lure of cash prizes and or on behalf of selling old vehicles, cheating thousands of people in 2021.
The cell was arrested and ordering the perpetrators under the relevant part of the IPC.
According to DCP Crime Salman Taj Patil, still denied the arrested ‘criminal’, who carried out cyber fraud incidents operating from Jharkhand, Kolkata, Tamil Nadu and Bihar.
“Efforts are being made to arrest them, but people also need to be vigilant.
They also need to be careful and should not fall into all types of greed,” DCP crime added.
